"Morning Star" resort, which started operating in 2003, offers high-standard accomodation set in beautifully designed traditional Thai style environment, with lush tropical gardens all around.
The Resort is conveniently located at Baan Kai Beach in between Thongsala, the authentic port town, and Haad Rin - Home of the monthly Full Moon Party.
ฺBaan Kai is a quiet beach with stunning sunset views, and a dreamy desert island feel with palms leaning in to the calm emerald sea. The beach itself is quite broad and protected from the high seas by a rich coral reef, providing a shelter for a variety of beautiful marine life and a great place to go snorkeling.
The nearby fishing village of Baan Thai has some authentic restaurants and street-stands that feature fresh seafood and genuine thai food (spicy...) and offers a glimpse into the local's life.
Morning Star Resort has been finished to extremely high standards with great attention to details. Private bungalows are set among lush tropical gardens that have been tastefully designed to create a wonderful open natural environment; The bungalows are positioned to give a great feel of natural space and ensure total privacy, and include spacious balconies with stunning sunset views over the neighbouring islands of Koh-Samui and ang-Thong National Marine park.
There are three styles of rooms available at various rates to suit most budgets, from luxury beachfront suites to stylish bungalows and island-style huts for the authentic south-thai feel. All of the rooms have en suite bathrooms and are fully fitted and furnished.
The restaurant is set amongst beautiful tropical gardens and is open plan so that you can enjoy the wonderful natural views out to sea. You can relax and take your meal Thai style on a traditional raised seating area or sit on a conventional table and chairs for that special candlelit dinner. The extensive menu provides a variety of delicious traditional Thai and Western cuisine, as well as fresh seafood.

Snorkeling equipment is available to explore the rich coral reef off Ao Baan Khai;
Kayaks for hire are a great way to see the amazing coastline;
There is an Internet and travel booking shop with international fax and telephone facilities; satellite TV for live sport events and movies. Motorbikes are available for hire, but if you don't want the bother, taxis pass frequently on the road outside.
